English Profile is below
My first encounter with Ligeti's music was when I saw the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. The music left a strong impression on me. I then majored in musicology at university and studied "Ligeti's compositional techniques." The composer highly praised the Chamber Concerto, Aventures, and Piano Concerto I conducted. Meeting and talking with Ligeti in Paris was an honor and a privilege.
Interpreting the composer's intent from the score is for performers' confidence and satisfaction. By comparing the printed score with the manuscript or source material, performers can better understand the composer's emotion and message and perform the music with confidence—and that can be conveyed to the audience.
